Claire Ptak, the dessert chef responsible for the scrumptious wedding cake of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, has released a classic French dessert recipe. The best part about this dessert is you can easily switch the cherries with your favorite fruit and make a mouth-watering dessert. If you’re using frozen cherries, ensure they are heated or warmed, drained, and dried off before using them. Preparing a mouth-watering dessert with Claire’s instruction will take around an hour and will serve roughly six people. So, gather the ingredients and let the aroma of cherries fill up your kitchen!
3 tbsp of unflavoured butter
2 ½ cups of fresh pitted cherries
½ cup of all-purpose flour
1 ¼ cup of whole milk
1/8 tbsp of sea salt
¾ cup of fine sugar
Recipe for Preparing the Cherry Dessert
Preheat the microwave or oven to 375 degrees Celsius. Take a round oven-safe dish and grease it with a spoonful of unsalted butter. Spread the cherries evenly on the utensil and set them aside for some time.
Take some flour, add in salt and ½ cup of the fine sugar in a bowl, and blend them well. Add on the eggs and milk and whisk them until appropriately done. Pour the mixture with a mesh strainer to avoid any lumps on the cherries.
Sprinkle some of the mixture on the buttered dish with the leftover ¼ cup of sugar. Take 2 spoons of butter and scatter them around, covering every inch of the dish, so that no fruit stays uncooked.
Bake the dessert for around 30-40 minutes until it turns puffed and golden. Don’t forget to cover the edges with aluminum foil after 20 minutes have passed so your dessert doesn’t get overcooked. After you take it out from the oven, let it sit for around five minutes before serving the delicious cherry-filled dessert with whipped cream.
